“Did you know we have 122 LED strip lights?” Said Oseias to me the other day. We were discussing the hefty burden and responsibility of maintaining, fixing and protecting the resources of the project. If you own anything, you understand the work that goes into keeping it well maintained and safe.
The conversation continued as we calculated the square footage of higher perimeter walls. Then assessed buildings that now need to be painted to seal them from water damage in next year’s rains. It’s no joke that maintenance is now a full time job. There are 6 large buildings including the grounds and walls to protect. Your support is needed more than ever to keep CBC safe.
We are delighted to report that following our hard work on the pumps, we have now concluded an extensive renovation of the chapel area. This involved cleaning and re-painting all the rafters. Also, opening up some walls for ventilation. Then repairing parts of the roof over the music classroom. Next we were able to put guttering on the gymnasium to help with the control of runoff in the rainy season. Between March and June we completed a full restoration and painting of the aluminum framework of the gymnasium.
This has been a huge job, costing more than the initial budget. This was because of the extent of rust and repairs required. The video above shows the tremendous results, please take a look.
