April Prayer / Praise
The new generator is functioning well and helping us through the rainy season with no flooding to date!
We are building relationships with new students in this new school year. We are already seeing changes in attitudes and behavior through our daily discipleship.
Please pray for good health. Many cold and flu viruses are circulating in the slums.
Pray for our fundraising banquet and all those who will attend.
Dimensions of Housing Poverty
Housing poverty includes overcrowding, unsafe structures, and a lack of basic services like plumbing and safe electrical wiring. As you can imagine, these issues disproportionately affect children’s health, development, and safety.
Many CBC students do not have a bedroom of their own. Instead, they have a hammock, which is put up in the lounge or a communal bedroom at night. They have no privacy.
In the rainy season, water leaks through poor-quality roofs, and the subsequent dampness can impact health and destroy belongings.
Housing poverty is another dimension of worry for children and their families in the community around CBC.
Houses in the slums are built without planning controls or building regulations.
