DIMENSIONS OF POVERTY
FOCUS ON SANITATION
32 million children in Brazil (over half) face some kind of poverty. Poor sanitation is a dimension of poverty that leads to increased sickness.
The students at CBC live with inadequate sewage systems and share low-quality bathrooms between large numbers of people. Girls often lack access to supplies for their monthly period and have little privacy. In the community, trash is spread in the streets, inviting vermin and disease.
