Team From South Dakota and Missouri
We are so very privileged to have friends spread out in many parts of the country. In October, we hosted a team from two states who joined forces at the airport on the way to make a team.
During their stay, they did some painting work on the gym and the walls. They also participated in our annual Children’s Day celebration, where we invited all our students to a morning of worship, prayer, fun, and games.
When everyone was exhausted, we served hot dogs and cold drinks. Everyone went home with a party bag with goodies kindly donated by our guests.
Let’s Play ‘Wedding’
In case you were wondering why on earth there was a random wedding in the middle of our video last month, let us explain.
Two of the American ballet company members were engaged to be married, and when the children found out, they were absolutely enchanted.
We quickly realized the motive for this fascination was simply because weddings are very rare in the slums, and many of our students have never had the
opportunity to attend one.
One quick-thinking student quickly suggested/insisted that our two guests have their wedding at recess right here at CBC!
In less than 5 minutes, we had a bed sheet, flowers, bridesmaids, a father of the bride (Marc!), music, rice, and two rings made from flowers! If you get a chance
to watch the video again, you will be amazed by the unreserved delight of the children as they participated in our improvised wedding! It was unforgettable!
Preparing To Install The Generator
We are renovating a storage area near the front gate of the project to house the new generator. This involves reinforcing the concrete floor and installing fencing to create a safe zone. Here are some photos of the work completed to date.
The new generator has been ordered, and it’s on its way to the project.
Surprise Visit
We love it when former students come back to tell us about their lives. That’s exactly what happened with Josué
recently.
Josue is now 25 and if you made a gift to CBC in the month of October you will soon be receiving his full story and photo in the mail or via email.
Above is a photo of Josué with Marc, who came back with the primary goal of saying thank you for the opportunities, care, and support he received when he was a student.
A Special Gift for the End of 2025
Last month, we told you about the high level of inflation in Brazil. Inflation takes its greatest toll on the poor, making the work of CBC even more crucial for the families we serve.
As we near the end of the year, CBC’s expenses increase because we pay double the wages in December. This is normal practice in Brazil. Therefore, we would like to ask you to consider giving a special gift to CBC this November or December.
Prayer / Praise
As we enter the month of November, please pray for the mission teams that plan to visit Brazil.
Pray for safe travels, successful projects, and transformational experiences that inspire new support and connections.
