Marcondes (Marc) Marques

Director
Marc was born in Fortaleza, Brazil. Growing up in a middle-class family, Marc noticed the distinct differences in opportunity available to him compared with his friends who lived in the slums. In the 80’s Marc studies Social Studies in the United States. In 1983, he founded Channel to Brazil for Christ. Marc has committed over 40 years to serving the poverty-stricken community in Fortaleza, Brazil. He is dedicated to serving the Lord and providing opportunities for youth to develop and pursue their dreams.

Ruth Marques

Operations Manager
Ruth is our most international team member. She was born in England and lives in both the US and Brazil. Ruth has worked in Community Development for 27 years. She holds a Batchelor’s degree in Geography and Development from The University of Sussex in England and an MBA from Regent University in Virginia Beach. Ruth has a passion for empowering people and delivering services that best equip the children and young people we serve.  Ruth is married to Marc and in 2024 they will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary.

Celeste Agett

Donor Relations Manager
Celeste has worked in Non-Profit management since 2004. She started with a focus on music ministry and missions through the IMPACT School of Ministry. This landed her in Brazil at CBC in 2006 where she fell in love with the children, the program, and with her husband. Marc and Ruth attended their wedding the following year. Celeste worked for many years in church admin, worship, youth and children’s ministry, finance, and church governance. Shortly after starting their family in 2011, Celeste became the director of a Christian school of the arts. In 2021 she joined the CBC office team in VA as our Donor Relations Manager. When she’s not serving CBC she is still teaching children Godly character through the performing arts just as she did in Brazil over a decade ago.

Casie Harrington

Marketing and Media Manager

Casie has been a part of the CBC family her whole life and has visited CBC twice. In 2007, she celebrated her eighth birthday in Brazil with her family, and then returned with a church mission team in 2009. In May 2021, Casie graduated from Northern Michigan University with a bachelors degree in Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management and started her career working as a wilderness therapy field instructor in northern Georgia. At this time she volunteered with CBC by managing social media marketing. In August 2023, Casie returned to CBC for a third time and stepped into the role of Marketing and Media Manager in Virginia.

Our team in Brazil

Our team of teacher in Brazil is full of the joy of the Lord and dedicated to sharing the love of Christ with our children. Each of them comes from a different background and brings unique experiences and knowledge. With this variety of personalities and knowledge, new ideas are continually being developed to help us reach the children where they need us!
